After selling GMR to Phoenix Metalman in February 2022, Julian chose to remain active in the industry, continuing to deliver core decommissioning services to the energy and infrastructure sectors, supported by Phoenix’s nationwide network and capabilities.

"I began my career in the industry in 2013 as a weighbridge operator before gaining hands-on experience across a range of operational roles, from loading containers and operating the container hoist to running material handlers. As my experience grew, I moved into leadership positions as 2IC, Branch Manager, and Regional Manager for the Lower North Island before transitioning into my current role in product stewardship and business development.

What I enjoy most about working at Phoenix is the variety. No two days are ever the same, and you never know what is going to come through the gate. I enjoy the challenge of finding practical solutions and working out the best way to manage unfamiliar or complex materials."
