RECYCLING

WHAT WE RECYCLE

Metal Recycling

Phoenix manages the full recycling journey - collecting, packaging, transporting and exporting more than 130 different grades of metal products. From common ferrous and non-ferrous metals through to specialised alloys, we ensure every specification is carefully prepared to meet strict global standards, helping to keep valuable resources in circulation and out of landfill.

BATTERY Recycling

Phoenix handles the complete lifecycle of battery recycling - collecting, processing, packaging, transporting and exporting more than 20 different subtypes of domestic, commercial and industrial batteries. From everyday household batteries to large-scale units, each is carefully managed to recover valuable materials, minimise environmental harm and support the shift to a more sustainable, circular economy.

E-WASTE RECYCLING

Phoenix’s e-waste recycling service offers a safe and sustainable way to manage end-of-life electronics. From computers and phones to appliances and specialised equipment, we recover valuable metals while responsibly handling hazardous components. By diverting e-waste from landfill, Phoenix helps return resources to the circular economy and reduce environmental impact.

METALLIC PACKAGing
RECYCLING

In addition to aluminium and tin cans, Phoenix accepts foil and steel packaging and many items that can no longer go in kerbside recycling bins from 1 February 2024. This service makes it easier to responsibly recycle metallic packaging, especially the small items that often get overlooked. It’s all part of our goal to be your one-stop shop for metal recycling.

SOLAR PANEL
RECYCLING

We accept all types of solar panels for recycling. Our process allows us to recover valuable materials from this complex waste stream, including aluminium, magnesium, silicon, iron, lead, cadmium, argentum, glass, fibreglass, polyurethane and more. By giving these resources a second life, we reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and support a more sustainable energy future.

Phoenix voluntarily reports through Toitū Envirocare’s Carbon Emissions Verification and Reduction programme, with all sustainability data independently audited for accuracy. We track every stage of our supply chain from collections across Aotearoa New Zealand to deliveries at international ports, capturing all mandatory emissions factors across Categories 1–5. In May 2025, Phoenix was formally certified as a Toitū Carbon Reduce Organisation, recognising our commitment to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement in sustainability.

circular
economy

Metals are at the heart of the global circular economy. Globally we need to reach net zero by transitioning to renewable sources of energy. Metals are core ingredients of all clean energy technologies; Phoenix’s metallic products for remelt will help power the future and build the essential infrastructure for our global society.
